HELLO again fellow foodies, I hope we have all been keeping warm in this cold Victorian weather.
I have been living off soups, curries and lots of warming foods.
This month we indulged, like we really indulged – I am talking degustation indulged.
My belly is still kinda maybe a little bit full thinking about all the food we ate.
A few weeks ago we were invited to Tulip bar and restaurant – Tulip is situated down the west end of Pako.
A hidden gem of Geelong serving locally produced food and wine.
On this occasion we indulged in the four waves chef specials which to me felt like 12 waves. SO MUCH FOOD … I had to ask the waitress to slow down with the food as our bellies were bursting, which I guess isn’t a bad thing.
Tulip happily catered for me (pescetarian) and will cater for your needs if you let them know your dietaries in advance.
We got to indulge in oysters, sous vide salmon which is food poached in plastic at a low temp, foraged pine mushrooms – oh, my list goes on.
The food came out in small waves, we truly never felt hungry.
My favourite was the ending – the decadent dessert which was like a chocolate parfait with chocolate upon chocolate.
Tulip has an extensive list of locally produced wines/craft beers as well as a long list of cocktails and mocktails.
Tulip is on my top list of BEST restaurants in Geelong, the front of house staff were super attentive and were able to assist me with my annoying questions.
A huge hats off to the chefs in the kitchen who are creating amazing and beautiful things.
This restaurant is truly one of the best I have been to and I am sure it would be yours too.
