“FOR an agent to appreciate the possibilities … they first have to appreciate the past”
Back in 1856, our home town of Geelong (including special places like Pakington Street) was a very different place.
Victoria was in the grip of a historic gold rush that was attracting fortune hunters from across the globe. Local landmarks like the Geelong Town Hall and the railway line to Melbourne were still yet to take their place in the local landscape. In fact, Geelong West hadn’t actually begun to officially “exist” yet, as the area was more widely known by locals as either ‘Ashby’, ‘Kildare’ or even ‘Little Scotland’, (depending on which school they went to).
While all these landmarks that we take for granted today were still taking shape on one side of the Bay, on the other side of the water a small business with a big vision for the future was also taking shape … the business we now know today as Hodges Real Estate.
Even back in 1856, Hodges was a real estate agency with a strong commitment to customer service as well as an emphasis on helping people prepare for what the future may bring. In fact, in later years it was the Hodges name that introduced the concept of an agent actually taking buyers to inspect properties, although back then it was in a horse drawn carriage rather than one of those new-fangled motor cars!
Having played a key role in so many family moves over the past 160 years, it is not surprising that the Hodges name has become known as such a valued source of advice and strategic planning for countless clients across Victoria. Having seen so many changes over the years, (indeed, having had a hands-on role in many of them), the team at Hodges can call on a depth of experience that very few real estate agencies can provide.
Nowadays, this extensive knowledge and experience of the Geelong marketplace enables the Hodges team to provide home owners with in-depth guidance, not just on what opportunities the current market will provide, but also what is possible with a few strategic adjustments.
So if you’re keen to discover what possibilities today’s strong property market could hold for you … give the team at Hodges a call on 5222 7772.
